AN MP is making changes to the next set of surgeries he will hold in his constituency.

North Durham Labour representative Kevan Jones holds the monthly sessions so that people in the area can speak to him face to face and raise any problems they have or seek his help.

In January there will be no session at the library in Plawsworth Road, Sacriston, in the sequence of surgeries due to take place on Saturday, January 3.

And the start time for the session at Prince Bishops Community Bank in Stanley will be brought forward by 30 minutes.

The MP’s timetable for that day will be: St Mary’s and St Cuthbert’s Parish Centre, Church Chare, Chester-le-Street, 9 to 10.30am;

The Community Centre, Front Street, Great Lumley , 11 to 11.45am; Prince Bishops Community Bank, 25-33 Front Street, Stanley, 12.30 to 2pm.

A spokesman for Mr Jones said: “These changes are for the month of January only, and the surgery in Sacriston will start again on Saturday, February 7.”
