A GRAPHIC design student has helped out a local charity by designing a new booklet cover.

Sixth former Rachel Martin has designed the cover of a booklet on emotional and mental health for Chester-le-Street charity If U Care Share Foundation.

The charity approached East Durham College with a design brief for the cover and the student has spent the last few months working with staff to come up with the design.

The booklet has now been printed and will be used in the Foundation’s education programmes across the region.

East Durham College Art Lecturer Andrew Rolfe said: “It was great to work in conjunction with the If U Care Share team on this project.

“It’s a fantastic cause and it was brilliant to be able to get students at the college to help them out with the design of this booklet.

“I would like to convey my thanks to the Foundation for giving us this opportunity, it’s been invaluable experience for the students involved, especially Rachel, if they go on to have a career in the graphic design industry.”
