A SPECIAL rock night is being held by bikers this weekend in Consett to help two worthy causes.

The British Biker Relief Foundation and The Great North Air Ambulance will benefit from the event on Saturday, March 29, at Steph’s, in Market Street.

Four local bands Borstal Babies, Burning Worlds, Shokker, and Avatar will perform music ranging from punk to heavy rock.

There will be a raffle with prizes including tattoo, beauty and piercing vouchers.

Event organiser Richard Walford said: “The night promises to be a cracking event that has so far generated a great deal of interest, in and around County Durham.

“It has been embraced by music fans and local businesses, who have generously donated some top prizes for our raffle.

“The North-East biker community is very close knit and anything we can do to raise money for charities linked to the scene is very worthwhile.

“The Great North Air Ambulance has treated and saved the lives of many friends and their services should be cherished and savoured – as you never know when you might need their help. Come along and show your support, as the gig will be one to remember.”

Doors will open at 7pm and the price of entry is a donation.
