MARKET THEFT: Police are appealing for information after a pipe and a tobacco tin were stolen from a market stall in Darlington town centre. The incident at the regular stall, which stands opposite the Costa coffee shop, happened at noon on Monday, April 14. Two customers alerted the stall holder that a man was stealing goods – the man ran off in the direction of the town clock. The man is described as white, in his 20s and wearing a grey hoodie, which he had zipped up. Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Inglis in the Priority Crime Team on the non-emergency 101 number or 01325-742275.

NETBALL FUN: A new ten-week course, Back to Netball, will begin at Longfield Academy, in Darlington, on May 12. The course is open to women aged 16 and over and aims to teach basic netball skills and provide an opportunity to have fun playing the sport. CRAFT TIME: A family arts and crafts session will be held at Head of Steam – Darlington Railway Museum, on Thursday, April 17, between 1pm and 3pm. The cost of the session is included in the general museum admission fee.

BENEFITS ADVICE: A drop in session for new or expectant parents to offer advice about benefit entitlement will be held at C: The Box, in Priestgate, Darlington, on Thursday, April 17, between 3pm and 5pm. Registration for social housing or for local children’s centres will also be available.
