A HOST of Darlington businesses have been rallying to raise much-needed funds for people living with MS.

The MS Society Darlington and District Branch has organized a grand charity draw with a collection of top prizes up for grabs.

Among the cache is an Aston Martin or Lamborghini sports car driving day, a makeover photoshoot worth £100 courtesy of Risbeys Photography in Darlington, a meal for two at the Devonport Hotel, Middleton One Row, a pair of weekend British Touring Car Championship tickets for Croft Circuit, a four ball golf day, a holiday cottage stay and M&S vouchers.

Tickets are on sale now and the draw will be made at Darlington Rugby Club, on Tuesday, May 13 at 11 am. Tickets are £1 each and available from organiser Janet Tucker or any committee member.

Mrs Tucker, of Hurworth, said: “We have had good response from all the local businesses and are very impressed with their offers of help.

“All the money raised will help the branch to continue funding the physiotherapy service and provide members a free transport service to all our events and activities.

“One to one physiotherapy is fantastic and makes such a difference to our lives.”

Multiple Sclerosis is the most common neurological disorder among young adults in the UK.

It is the result of damage to a substance called myelin, a protective coating surrounding the fibres of the central nervous system, which interferes with the messages between the brain and other parts of the body.
