A man was driving under the Castle Eden Walkway on the A689 at Sedgefield with his young child when a group of people dropped an unknown item on to his Seat Leon at around 6.15pm on Friday, August 22.
PC Tony Burgess, of Durham Police, said: “This was a very dangerous act and the person or person responsible need to be caught. If the driver had lost control of his vehicle the consequences could have been far worse.”
