YOUNGSTERS at a Trimdon primary school have been making posters to highlight the dangers about dog muck.
Trimdon Foundry Parish Council has been working with the pupils at Deaf Hill Primary School with the aim of educating dog owners in the area.
The project was set up to make the most of the children's design skills which, it is hoped, will encourage dog owners to dispose of their pet's poo in a responsible way.
The posters, which will be displayed around the village, have saved the council £300 on professional signs.
Prizes, donated by Sainsbury’s in Sedgefield, have been given to pupils who will have their work put on show.
Margaret Eadsforth, chairman of Trimdon Foundry Parish Council, said: “We were overwhelmed with how enthusiastic the children were and how many entries we received.
“The children have been a credit to their school and to Trimdon Foundry Parish.”
