MORE than £12,000 was raised as an evening of cabaret-themed fun took place at the annual St Teresa’s Hospice ball.
The ball, held at Sherwoods, in Darlington, on October 4, saw more than 270 attendees enjoy a performance from the Royal Northern College of Music Session Orchestra, before later getting down to the music of the Dean Solomon Band.
A menu in keeping with the cabaret theme was offered up, with an auction, casino, table game and a ‘guaranteed win’ raffle all being held to raise funds for the charity.
Sherwoods and Clinkards were the two principal sponsors of the night.
Hospice director Jane Bradshaw said: “Our annual ball is one of the region’s favourite events, and I’m delighted that so many people continue to support it.
“I’d like to thank all of our event sponsors, everyone who donated a prize for our raffle, and all our fabulous guests.
“Finally, I want to give a massive ‘thank you’ to our dedicated volunteer committee who gave up their free time to organise this marvellous event.”
