A FREE fun day will reveal which youth projects have secured a share of a £40,000 funding pot.

The East Durham Rural Corridor Area Action Partnership will announce the successful projects at the event at Sedgefield Community College on Saturday, December 6, from noon to 2pm.

Projects ranging from youth clubs and football teams, to parent and toddler groups applied for a slice of the funding and pupils and parents at 17 local schools were invited to vote for their favourite schemes.

As well as the all-important results, the forum will also feature a range of family friendly activities, including arts and crafts, face painting, five-a-side football, a visit from Santa and a penalty shoot out using a netted cage provided by the Sunderland Association Football Club Foundation.

There will also be an opportunity for people to vote on what priorities they would like the area action partnership to address next year.

To attend the event, contact 03000-261128 or 03000-261129 or eastdurhamruralaap@durham.gov.uk

Free transport can also be arranged for those wishing to attend.

The East Durham Rural Corridor partnership is one of 14 Area Action Partnerships set up by Durham County Council in 2009 to help the authority engage with residents on a local level.
