A MOBILE cinema will tour community venues in the Spennymoor area with an animated family film.

Spennymoor AAP gave £5,000 to the project to bring the big screen experience to residents’ doorsteps.

The first round of screenings, operated by Leisureworks, proved so popular that some venues sold out.

The next film to be shown will be PG certificated How to Train Your Dragon 2, an animated action comedy about Vikings and dragons based on the book by Cressida Cowell.

It will be at Spennymoor Youth Centre on Thursday, November 20, 4.30pm; Everyman Theatre at Spennymoor Settlement on Saturday, November 22, 2pm, 2pm; Hett Village Hall on Sunday, November 23, at 2.30pm; Kirk Merrington Community Centre on Saturday, November 29, at 11am; Middlestone Moor Community Centre on Saturday, November 29, at 3pm; Byers Green Village Hall on Sunday, November 30, at 11am; Croxdale Community Centre on Sunday, November 30, at 2.30pm; and Tudhoe Community Centre on Wednesday, December 3, at 4.30pm.

Tickets are £1 on the door, refreshments will be on sale at each venue with profits in aid of venue funds.

Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
