PRIZES are up for grabs across Darlington town centre as the festivities continue in the run up to Christmas.

The Queen Street Shopping Centre continues on its quest to find the one millionth shopper who will be in line for a £1,000 pay out.

There are prizes up for grabs in the Market Hall with a weekly grand prize draw that includes items such as children’s bikes, toys, an iPad, panto tickets and vouchers for goods from the market.

Shoppers can collect a free ticket from any covered market stall which are then placed in the draw at 3pm on Thursdays.

All tickets from each weekly draw are then put back into the hat for the grand draw on December 20 to win the main prize of the 50in TV.

This Thursday will also see the final Christingle Market in the town centre.

From 10am to 8pm, festive stalls will be selling a range of gifts including cakes, vintage-inspired jewellery, chutney and pickles, sweets, clothing and more.

Late night shopping continues in the town on Thursday and there is the chance to vote in the Cornmill Centre’s Sing to Win choir competition from 6pm to 7pm.

Santa will be in his grotto at the Cornmill and at Queen Street shopping centres over the weekend and in the Covered Market on Saturday from 10am to 4pm.

Saturday will also see a free cookery demonstration in the Market Hall every hour from 11am to 4pm.

The popular ice rink in the Market Square as well as festive stalls and food continues throughout the festive period.
