THE Darlington music scene is being supported by a prominent local trader.

Local bands and musicians can now sell their wares in the town’s Guru Boutique, on Blackwellgate.

Acts are urged to bring in their CDs and share them with a wider audience as part of a bid to help Darlington’s music scene flourish.

Guru’s Beryl Hankin said: “I only launched this yesterday and already the response has been amazing and word is spreading all over.

“There is obviously a need for something like this and it’s really important that we do it as there are some very talented people in this town and we want to support them.

“We won’t be taking any kind of profit for doing this, we just want to give them a platform to help get their music out there.

“We’re making the offer because we love music and know how many talented people there are out there who record good CDs but don’t have a local outlet where they can market them.”

Anyone interested in selling their music at the Guru Boutique can take their CDs into the shop.

All music will be sold at the premises and online at guruboutique.co.uk.
