AN out of school club which provides a vital service to working parents has been rated outstanding by Ofsted.
Woodham Burn Infants Out of School Club in Newton Aycliffe offers fun activities for up to 40 youngsters before and after school.
From outings to the seaside, farms and bowling alleys, to arts and crafts, games and healthy snacks –staff at the not-for-profit club pull out all the stops to ensure children have an enjoyable and productive experience.
Their efforts have not gone unnoticed.
In the club’s most recent Ofsted report, inspector Rachel Enright stated: “The quality of interactions are outstanding as staff provide children with a rich variety of challenging and stimulating activities. As a result, children make rapid progress in their learning and development as they are actively engaged and motivated in their play.”
She also described children as “secure and settled” and leadership as “inspirational.”
Kendra Green, manager, said: “We are really pleased as we have worked hard and go above and beyond what is expected to ensure children are happy and enjoy coming here.”
