POLICE have issued an appeal for information after a vehicle was stolen from a town centre car park.

The white Ford Ka van was taken from Clarence Street, in Spennymoor, where it had been left in the car park behind the North Eastern pub.

The van had been parked up for several weeks while the owner attempted to have some mechanical issues fixed.

It is not known exactly when the vehicle was stolen from the car park but it would have been between the New Year and Monday, February 16.

Apart from an LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) conversion it had no other changes from factory fit and its registration number is LD03GNJ.

PC Anthony Barker appealed to anyone who witnessed the van’s removal from the car park, any suspicious activity or who has seen the vehicle since to get in touch.

Anyone with information is asked to call PC Barker at Bishop Auckland police station on 101.
