A RECEPTIONIST proved she was game for a laugh when she completed a messy challenge for Comic Relief.

Staff at Greg Little Testing Centre in Newton Aycliffe had great fun covering Alice Todd, from Barton, near Darlington, in oil and feathers for the national charity.

It was one of many fundraising antics held at the centre, with staff wearing special t-shirts and red noses, painting their faces and baking cakes, including chocolate brownies and cream-filled éclairs.

To date, Miss Todd, 21, and the team have raised almost £500.

She said: “We wanted to do something funny for money and were discussing fundraising ideas when someone suggested oils and feathers.

“I just volunteered. It was alright but the oil was very cold and it was very messy. We had great fun though and I think it gave people a good laugh.

“Everyone really got into the spirit of the day.”
