APPRENTICES donned fancy dress to raise money for charity today (Wednesday, April 1).

Staff from EE in Darlington left their office attire at home and arrived at work in a colourful selection of wacky outfits.

Batman costumes, onesies and pyjamas were worn in a bid to show support to St Teresa’s Hospice.

The fancy dress day was organised by a team of people taking part in the Brathay Challenge.

A group of young apprentices are developing team building, leadership, logistical and communication skills as part of the initiative.

Over the next few months, the group will take on a series of work-related challenges and activities that will benefit the local community.

After collectively choosing to support Darlington’s St Teresa’s Hospice the team donated 15 tablets to the charity and planned a series of fundraising events, including today’s fancy dress fun.

Angela Howey, Head of Consumer Operations, Darlington at EE said: “We’re hugely proud of what our Brathay Challenge team has achieved.

“Seeing our young talent so committed to supporting the local community is truly inspiring.

“The feedback we’ve had from St Teresa’s, our apprentices themselves, but also fellow employees about the work amazing work they’re doing, makes me very proud of the programme.”
