A CLUB which provides affordable childcare for busy parents celebrated its 20th anniversary with a special party to raise funds for a new building.

Sedgefield Out of School Fun Club hopes to replace its rundown clubhouse in the grounds of Sedgefield Primary School with a new building this summer.

Today (Friday, April 10), staff, parents and pupils past and present came together for a fun-filled afternoon of treats, games and fundraising stalls to celebrate the milestone anniversary and secure further funds for the appeal.

Cake stalls, guess how many sweets in the jar, hook the duck, pick-up sticks, name the teddy and face painting were just some of the activities of offer.

Guests could also buy tickets for a grand raffle which will be drawn next month.

Sue Bell, fun club manager, said: “The club was set up by parents 20 years ago. For it to still be going strong after all this time is a fantastic achievement.”

Sedgefield Out of School Fun Club is a registered charity offering affordable childcare from 7.45am to 9am in the morning and 3pm to 6pm on an evening, as well as during school holidays.
