SOCIAL isolation is growing in Darlington, according to an organisation devoted to helping the town’s poor and needy.
Darlington Town Mission has been helping vulnerable people since it was founded in 1838 and now focuses on supporting the socially isolated and lonely.
Its AGM – held on Thursday, April 9 – saw members discuss the growth of social isolation in the local community.
They vowed to continue their work in Darlington and are appealing for more help in doing so.
The group organises a monthly afternoon outing programme, befriending services, fundraising drives and fortnightly lunches.
All services are provided free and volunteers are needed to assist in delivering them.
For more information or to benefit from the services offered, call 07943-251357 or email dtmission@btinternet.com.
