POLICE are appealing for information after a large amount of jewellery was stolen during a burglary.
Between 8am and 4pm on Tuesday (April 14) somebody entered a property on Hewitson Road, Darlington, through an insecure door while the homeowner was in the back garden.
They stole a large amount of distinctive jewellery from one of the bedrooms, including a number of yellow and white gold rings, some of which were diamond or emerald encrusted.
Other items stolen included opal encrusted rings, gold and silver earrings, and a number of yellow and white gold chains and bracelets, as well as a 24 carat yellow gold wedding ring engraved with ‘Ann-Bob 19.11.68’.
Cash was also taken from the ground floor of the property.
Anybody with any information on the jewellery, or who witnesses the burglary, is asked to call Detective Constable John Tyers at Darlington CID on 01235 742769 or 101.
