YOUNGSTERS at Mowden Infant School are enjoying brand new outdoor play equipment thanks to a donation from The Co-Operative Funeralcare
The company, which has branches Darlington town centre and now in Cockerton Village, donated £1,937 to the school to buy play equipment for its reception’s outdoor classroom.
The school used the money to buy a log cabin style playhouse and terrace which the children can use for role play, reading, playing or simply as a covered outdoor space to relax.
The Co-Operative made the donation after hearing that the school were looking for fundraising ideas to allow them to improve the outdoor classroom and play area for its 90 reception children since expanding to three reception classes in 2013.
Jenette Sisson, manager at The Co-Operative Funeralcare, said: “We are always enthusiastic to help out residents of all ages in the community, and hope that the children at Mowden Infant School get a lot of enjoyment out of their new play equipment.”
