DARLINGTON Quakers will be opening the Friends Meeting House on Skinnergate for special tours and a “pop-up” tea room this May Day Bank Holiday.

The Quakers will be running guided tours of the historic building and the Quaker Burial Ground, where some of Darlington’s most eminent residents were laid to rest.

It will be a great chance for visitors to learn more about this fascinating and integral part of the town’s heritage.

The event runs from 1pm to 5pm on Monday, May 4.

Tea, coffee and freshly baked cakes will also be on sale, served on vintage china in the attractive surroundings of the Meeting House.

More details of the event can be found at darlingtonquakers.org/events or by calling 01325-466810.
