DARLINGTON residents have less than a month to sign up and save money with the Big Community Switch.

Currently on its fifth round, the Big Community Switch has saved over 300 Darlington households an average of £200 each on their energy bills.

Residents, businesses and community organisations can all register for free with no obligation to switch.

Darlington Borough Council and Darlington Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) have started a new round of the collective energy switching scheme, powered by iChoosr.

Registration is open to householders including people living in rented accommodation and who have prepayment meters.

After the registration period closes, an auction is organised and householders will receive an offer telling them how much they can save.

Registration closes at midnight on May 18 and the auction takes place the following day, after which people can decide whether or not to accept the offer.

Householders can also receive help and one to one support to register from the CAB at 256999 (ext 122), while businesses and community organisations can call 0800 088 6974 to talk to experts.
