A CHARITY fundraiser is literally throwing himself into his next next challenge – a bungee jump on the other side of the world.

Chris Jenkins was the mastermind behind the successful Oxjam Darlo music festival last October, in which dozens of bands took over pubs and bars around the town, raising funds and awareness for Oxfam.

Mr Jenkins is busy working on this year's festival, which will take place in October again.

Further details will be released in due course.

In the meantime, he jetted off to New Zealand on Monday (April 27), where he will enjoy three weeks of travelling with his family.

As part of the trip, on May 12, Mr Jenkins will bungee jump off a bridge in Queenstown, on New Zealand's South Island.

He is hoping to raise £400 for the benefit of Oxjam Darlo, with donations of more than £150 already pledged.

Mr Jenkins said bungee jumping is something he has always fancied doing, but never had the opportunity.

He said: "It was something I talked about when I was at uni and now, 20 years later, I'm finally doing it.

"A lot of people are coming up to me saying 'are you sure?', and I am sure I will have a few nerves when the time comes, but I am really looking forward to it.
