A SERIES of events will be held in Darlington to encourage more people to travel by bike.

The Big Bike Revival is a national campaign which aims to get more people using their bikes, and learning how to take care of them.

As part of the campaign, which runs from Saturday, May 23 to Sunday, June 7, Bike Stop, in Darlington, is holding a number of free events.

The events include a women only bike maintenance session on Saturday, May 23, a bike ride on a confidence training session for eight-year-olds to 80-year-olds from 11.30am to 3pm at South Park on Tuesday, May 26, and bike maintenance sessions from 5pm to 7pm on Wednesday, May 27, Thursday, May 28, and Friday, May 29.

Coffee and cakes will also be available at the shop throughout the campaign.
