A YOUTH football team is celebrating a double victory – after securing two new sponsors and raising funds for a good cause.
Blackwell Rangers FC held a raffle for Darlington businesses, which were offered the chance to purchase tickets to become the main sponsor of the club's U13s team.
A proportion of the proceeds were donated to the children's ward at Darlington Memorial Hospital.
David Ward, who owns winning business Box Fit/Fox Fit, agreed to match what had been raised, meaning a cheque for £200 was handed over.
Following publicity about the raffle, Co-op Funeral Care in Cockerton, contacted the club and agreed to sponsor the U10s team, which will become the U11s side next season.
Club secretary Mark Clayton said the club is on the look out for new players for next season.
Anyone interested can call Mr Clayton on 07975-729-255.
