SWAP Shop style events at which people can trade in unwanted items and pick up something new without spending a penny will be held at two schools.

The New to You project was launched by housing provider livin and Success (North East) in Spennymoor last year as part of a wider initiative to help residents manage their money better.

People can exchange their unwanted goods for tokens to purchase other people’s preloved stuff.

Events will be at North Park Primary School on Wednesday, July 8, and Rosa Street Primary School on Friday, July 10.

At both a children’s sale will be held from 1.30pm to 2.30pm and a parents’ event from 2.30pm to 3.30pm.

All donated items must be clean and in good condition, should fit on a table top and clothing on hangers in possible. No electricals, underwear or swimwear can be swapped.

Unsold goods will be donated to local charity shops. To donate items or for details contact Wendy Minhinnett, of Success (North East), on 07415-380040.
