WOOD CRAFT: East Durham College is launching ten new wood craft courses at its Houghall campus, near Durham City. Subjects include wood carving, spoon carving, tool sharpening and wooden bowl carving. Courses are one or two days long and cost £75 to £175, including tuition and materials. OPERATION SANCTUARY: Police investigating widespread sexual abuse are asking people to remain vigilant and report any concerns. Operation Sanctuary has so far led to 75 arrests and 11 people being charged. To speak to Northumbria Police, call 101.
