MOTORISTS have been facing delays after a lamppost was partially knocked down in a two-vehicle accident.
A Durham Police spokesman said an Audi travelling east on Broom Lane, Ushaw Moor, near Durham City, collided with a stationary Nissan, at 10.15am.
The Nissan in turn was shunted into a lamppost carrying overhead lines. The post was sheared off at its base and partially knocked over. No-one was hurt in the accident.
Police reduced the road to a single lane and are still clearing the scene.
