Children’s charity Barnardo’s will outline the work it does in the North-East at Lumley Castle Hotel, Chester-le-Street, on Tuesday. October, 21.
The event starts at 11am and will include talks from Alan Dearman, a former Barnardo's boy, Paula Appleby, a therapist in a Barnardo’s counselling service. and a representative from local legal partners QualitySolicitors, John Donkin.
There will be a complimentary buffet and over- 55s can find out about having a will written.
Paul Beard, Barnardo’s Regional Development Officer, said: “Almost half of the donations Barnardo’s receives comes from the general public and is donated through wills.
“The money raised is vital to help Barnardo’s continue its work with deprived children.
“The scheme aims to make more people aware of the benefits of writing a will and after they have made provision for loved ones, we hope they will consider a gift to Barnardo's - helping change the lives of many disadvantaged children that will be supported in the future.”
