A COLLEGE has recently welcomed 22 Danish students to their campus as part of an eight week cultural and study programme.

The students, from Niels Brock Business College in Copenhagen, Denmark, are all aged between 16 and 19-years-old and are following a vocational A-Level programme in their homeland.

Alongside studying a range of modules with Business and IT students at New College Durham such as marketing, business economics and history, the Danish students will take part in a variety of organised trips including Durham Cathedral, Tynemouth, Cragside, Beamish Museum, Edinburgh and York.

Emilie Ibsen, 18, from Copenhagen, said: “I came to New College Durham as I wanted to experience the British culture. The college sounded great with lots of different courses and facilities. I’ve really enjoyed the classes so far, the lecturers are great at teaching. I love Durham too. It’s a charming, beautiful city.”

John Widdowson, principal and chief executive of New College Durham, officially welcomed the Danish students and they also met The Mayor of Durham at the Town Hall.

David Taylor, head of international partnerships at the college, said: “The Danish students add to our already multicultural and diverse student community at the college.”
