FAMILIES are invited to a science busking event this weekend (Saturday, February 14).

Noisey-y (correct) Nosey Science Busking will be in Millennium Place, Durham, on Saturday, February 14, from 11am to 4pm.

Children can try out a range of experiments, including having their nose and ears tested for electrical conductivity, finding out how squeaky they are and feeling 1,000 watts of sonic power running through their fingertips.

The hands-on activities are free for all.

Meanwhile, the DLI Museum and Durham Art Gallery, in Aykley Heads, is hosting activity sessions as part of its Generation Noise exhibition from Tuesday, February 17, to Sunday, February 22.

Sessions run each day from 10.30am to 4pm and are included in the normal admission charge.

Children can take home their own noisy toy.

Created by artists Owl Project, Generation Noise features interactive wooden sound machines.

Visitors are encouraged to cut out shapes and feed them into the machine to make strange and wonderful sounds.

The exhibition, which follows the successful Generation Air show, runs until Friday, April 10.
