CHILDREN are invited to an Easter sports camp.

Durham Gilesgate Youth and Community Association will stage its annual Easter Sports Camp at its base on Bradford Crescent, Gilesgate, Durham City, during the school holidays.

The week-long course will run from Monday, March 30, to Thursday, April 2, with sessions from 9.30am to 2.30pm each day.

Activities will include cricket, football, basketball, trampolining, gymnastics, dodgeball, volleyball, dancing, tennis and fun games.

The non-residential camp is suitable for children aged five to 14-years-old.

The cost is £5 per child per day. Children should take a packed lunch and drinks and wear suitable clothing.

Transport is available at the cost of £1 per day, from Bowburn, Coxhoe, Kelloe, Quarrington Hill, Cassop, Sherburn, Pittington, Ushaw Moor, Bearpark and Neville’s Cross areas.

Registration closes on Monday, March 16. To book a place or for more information, contact Ann Ferguson. Call 0191-3961933 or email dgyandca@googlemail.com

Last year, more than 60 children took part in the 15th annual camp, with organisers hailing it as a great success.

A two-week summer camp is held during the first fortnight of the school summer holidays.
