A HOUSING group has launched its annual garden competition.

Durham City Homes (DCH), which runs 5,900 former council houses across the old Durham City district, is offering prizes for the best floral containers, gardens, back yards and patios.

The judges will be DCH staff and tenants and the winners will be announced at an awards ceremony later this year.

Lynn Jordison, chair of DCH board, said: “It’s great to see that the garden competition is back for another year.

“The competition not only rewards tenants for the hard work they put into looking after their garden, but also helps to build positive relationships with our tenants."

The closing date for entries is Wednesday, June 24. For more information, email: involve@durhamcityhomes.co.uk or call 0191 3497629.
