A BROTHER and sister are both enjoying sporting success.

Conor Dougall holds four British titles in the modern pentathlon and tetrathlon.

Now his sister Kari has been selected for the Great Britain under 17s pentathlon squad for the European Championships in Portugal in July.

Kari, 15, is a member of the senior GB World Class Talent Squad for the modern pentathlon.

Last year she won gold in the British modern tetrathlon, silver in the British modern pentathlon and bronze in the British modern triathlon.

Kari also won gold in the Scottish National Pony Club tetrathlon and bronze in the National Pony Club tetrathlon at under 15 level.

She has competed for the GB modern pentathlon squad twice already this year at under 17 and under 19 level.

She said: “I am really looking forward to the European Championships in Portugal and to representing Great Britain.”

Conor, 13, is a member of the English Talent Programme. He is the current British champion in modern pentathlon, modern tetrathlon, modern triathlon and pony club triathlon.

He is also Scottish Pony Club tetrathlon champion and won silver in the under 15 National Pony Club tetrathlon championships.

Kari and Conor both attend Durham School.

A school spokeswoman said: “It’s great sporting news. It’s not often that a brother and sister excel in the same sporting disciplines like Conor and Kari.”
