A NEW community fitness suite run entirely by volunteers has opened.
The new facility is based in Langley Park Primary School, in Langley Park, near Durham and is part of Durham County Council’s Legacy Gym project.
It is one of 17 similar venues across the county.
The project is aimed at taking small, state-of-the-art fitness venues to the heart of communities and encouraging people to become more active and healthy.
Volunteers will be on hand to demonstrate the equipment and give fitness advice.
The gym is open to all villagers, but 11 to 16-year-olds must be accompanied by an adult.
Entry costs £2 per session for adults and £1 for under-16s. The opening hours are Monday to Friday from 9am to 11.15am and 5pm to 9pm.
For more information or to join the gym, call the school on 0191-373-1398 or visit the suite to complete a short health questionnaire and induction.
