THE following cases were heard at Darlington Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday, November 6):
Andrew Scott, 26, of Lisle Road, Newton Aycliffe, admitted driving while above the alcohol limit. He was stopped at about midnight on October 28 after he was seen by police speeding out of a car park in Darlington town centre, the court heard.
Tests showed he had 57mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath after drinking two bottles of lager. The legal limit is 35mg. He was fined £110 and ordered to pay £85 court costs and a victim surcharge of £20. He was also disqualified from driving for 12 months.
Samantha Davison, 22, of Killinghall Street, Darlington, pleaded guilty to possessing a class B drug. The court heard on October 25 police carried out a search warrant at her boyfriend’s house where they found £10 worth of amphetamine, which she kept down her bra.
She admitted it was for her own personal use and was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £40 court costs along with a £15 victim surcharge.
