A GROUP of upper sixth form chemistry students from Carmel College, in Darlington, broadened their knowledge with a factory visit.
The group visited the INEOS Newton Aycliffe site earlier this month (December).
During their visit they learned about PVC and the products made from it and saw first-hand the PVC resin manufacturing plant.
This was followed by an explanation and demonstration of PVC compounds manufacture in the process development laboratory.
A school spokesman said: βAn interesting part was the analytical laboratory, to see how the complex analytical equipment works and is used in practice. Feedback from the students was very positive.β
