PEOPLE from across Darlington are being urged to dust off their trainers and take part in the first Park Run of the new year.
The Darlington Park Run, which will take place in South Park on Saturday, January 5, is free and gives runners a chance to be timed around the 5km route.
Andy Scott, Darlington Borough Council's cabinet member for health and partnerships, said: "It is important that we all take responsibility for our own health and fitness.
“The Park Runs are a fun way to get out into the fresh air to exercise with friends and like-minded people.”
The run will begin at 9am and all first time runners must register online at parkrun.org.uk/register
