AN EAST Durham leisure centre has launched a new 12-week training plan offering advice on health and fitness.

Go Light at the Seaham Leisure Centre at the Deneside Recreation Ground, in Seaham, also encourages members achieve their goals in a fun way.

The training plan starts with a quick health check, where the fitness team measure heart rate, flexibility, blood pressure, body fat, lung capacity and body weight - to personalise a training plan according to individual abilities.

Members then receive advice on exercises to suit their body type, as well as expert dietary support.

Achievements over the 12 weeks will be recorded in the Go Light record book so members can track their progress.

Seaham Leisure Centre manager Phil Evans said: “The Go Light programme is a great way to get in shape to look and feel your best for Christmas.

“There’s no need to wait for the 12 days of Christmas, start on the 12- week Go Light programme today, see it through to the end and I will guarantee you see some fantastic results.”
