A SCHOOL badminton team has recorded a clean sweep, winning all age groups to qualify for the regional finals.

Pupils from The Wensleydale School, in Leyburn, have been crowed area champions for U14/16 boys and girls.

The youngsters played against schools from across Hambleton and Richmondshire.

Team manager Jonathon Berry said: “It was a magnificent achievement and just reward for the hours of time they've spent practising over the years with their local clubs and coaches.”

The finals will take place later this year.
