GRANT SCHEME: The Ministry of Defence has launched the Community Covenant Grant Scheme to support projects at the local level which strengthen the ties between members of the Armed Forces Community and the wider community in which they live.
Projects have included play areas, scout headquarters and a new vehicle for a mountain rescue team.
The deadline for applications is February 15.
