A CHARITY fundraiser is looking to raise funds to help train guide dogs by running the London Marathon.

Andrew Bluck, from Think Interiors, is to take part in the 2011 Virgin London Marathon to raise money for The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.

The decorating contracts manager for the Northallerton-based business will complete the 26mile 385yards course on April 17.

He said: "I took up running six years ago as a way to keep fit with my daughter Laura and we have since completed numerous runs together including the London Marathon in 2008.

"I have chosen to raise money for Guide Dogs as these amazing animals really change their owner’s lives, allowing them to go where they want, when they want and not have to rely on other people."

Peter Emmett, from Guide Dogs events team, said: "The charity relies on voluntary donations to fund its services, every penny raised will make a huge difference to blind and partially sighted people."
