POLICE investigating after a pedestrian was killed in a collision on the A171 near Whitby have identified two potentially important witnesses who they would like to speak to.
Inquiries since the incident on December 5 have established that two people, possibly both women who were travelling together, stopped to help at the scene.
They helped to push a Ford Focus, which was involved in the collision, to the side of the road.
A 35-year-old local man died as a result of the incident – however he has yet to be officially named.
Officers believe that the two may have information vital to the investigation and are urging them to come forward as soon as possible.
Contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option two and ask for Traffic Constable Gareth Gilleard or Scarborough Road Policing Group.
