Whitby police are appealing for information after thieves broke into a garage in Commondale and took a £700 Stihl saw and an axe between 3.30pm on December 20 and 3.15pm the following day. New role: The new general manager of the Talbot Hotel in Malton is David Macdonald. As well as being responsible for the operation of the recently renovated four-star hotel he will also oversee its restaurant which has partner and BBC Saturday Kitchen chef James Martin at the helm.
