Appeal for volunteers to research impact of First World War

NIDDERDALE Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty will hold two events to recruit volunteers to research the impact of the First World War on the area, its landscape and communities. They will be held in Pateley Bridge Council Chamber on Monday (January 13), from 7pm to 8pm, and at Washburn Heritage Centre on Wednesday, January 15, from 7pm to 8pm. For details, call 01423 551664.
COMPUTER HELP: A series of information technology taster sessions will be held at Northallerton library on Tuesdays, from 10am to noon. The first session, today (January 7), will see participants introduced to the internet and subsequent workshops will include email, photo editing, Word and Excel.
