A HOUSING advice service aimed at preventing homelessness is set to be launched in Thirsk.

The free drop-in service is being provided by Foundation, a charity that provides housing services with Hambleton District Council, and is in addition to a similar service offered at Hambleton District Council Offices at Stone Cross in Northallerton, from Monday to Friday between 9am and 2.30pm.

A housing support worker will be on hand at each session to provide help and advice for those facing debts putting their homes at risk, those who have been asked to leave their current accommodation, and anyone in need of emergency accommodation.

For details about the service, which opens on Monday (January 13), and will be held weekly from 10am to 2pm at 11 Westgate, call 01609-767008.
