A sub committee of Bedale Town Council is to look at setting up an emergency plan for the town. Matthew Robinson of North Yorkshire County Council told councillors existing arrangements used the High School but there was concern no one was aware of any procedures involving the school. In previous emergency situations residents had gathered at Bedale Hall. Mr Robinson said the first 24 hours of any emergency were the most crucial and to have agreed arrangements in place was important.

CAR BOOT: A draw for groups fundraising by running the Bedale Hall car boot sale was held by the Town Council. Out of 33 potential sales, all 25 groups from Bedale who had requested them were given slots, with the remainder going to organisations from outside the parish area. Sales will start on March 15, weather permitting, and run every Saturday until October 25
