THE co-owner of an award winning restaurant took his expertise to Thailand to support a local school.
David Moss and his wife Sano, from the Wensleydale Heifer in West Witton visited her former school in Thailand to help celebrate Children’s Day.
Mr Moss cooked an authentic Thai meal for 80 people in the local village of Ham Tum, near Korat, raising £440 for the school, which is currently undergoing development work to create a new building.
Mr Moss said: “When we visited the headteacher and pupils at Watthamsoong School, it was really clear how much the school meant to them and it is very special to my wife, she has many fond memoriesof growing up there.
"We were really keen to help and we came up with the idea of cooking for most of the village, who were incredibly supportive and generous with their time and money.
“It was a little daunting cooking Thai food for so many Thai people, but the meal was a great success.
"We’re going to continue our support for the school and I’m sure our customers and friends at the Wensleydale Heifer will get involved so look out for a Thai-themed event coming soon.”
