A WOMAN was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after being thrown from her horse which then landed on top of her.
The woman, from the Thirsk area, had been riding at a farm near Sutton Bank, North Yorkshire, at about 12.40pm on Saturday, March 22, when the incident happened.
The rider, believed to be aged between 41 and 50, sustained serious injuries to her abdomen and pelvis.
She was treated at the scene by a doctor with the Great North Air Ambulance, before being flown to the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
