POLICE are hunting vandals who caused damage valued at thousands of pounds to a local school.

The yobs struck sometime between 11pm on April 15 and 2am on April 16, when they smashed 27 windows at Bedale High School.

Police Community Support Officer Ian MacDonald said: “I am positive that someone will know who is responsible for this shocking act of utterly pointless vandalism.

“Those who smashed the windows should be deeply ashamed of themselves. It has caused nothing but inconvenience and expense to public funds.

“I urge them to contact the police straight away.”

Contact Bedale police on 101, select option two and ask for Ian MacDonald. Alternatively, information can be emailed to ian.macdonald@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk or call Crimestoppers on 0800- 555-111.
